Confession is when we do the work of acknowledging our sin before God…agreeing with God about our sin, not hiding from it. Any time we confess, it is important that we remind ourselves of the forgiveness that is ours’ in Jesus.
Below you will find some ideas for you and / or your children.
Activity One
Write down the names of people you need to forgive on your hands. Using soap and water wash off their names as a sign of forgiveness.
You may find it helpful to pray this prayer as you wash your hands:
"Father I lay down (person's name) before you. Lord I'm having a hard time forgiving them. I want to forgive them but the pain keeps me from moving forward. But today, I choose to give it to you, the pain, the bitterness, the desire for revenge. I give it all to you. Lord heal every part of me that is being affected by this situation. I release them to you now, in Jesus name. Amen"
Activity Two
Get a tray or shallow box and use some sand or flour to cover the base...

Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”Think about a concern, regret, burden, or sin. Sum it up in one word.
Write that word in the sand. Take your time.
Stay with the word for a moment.
Wipe the word away, accepting the healing, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus.
Repeat as needed with other situations and words.
Take your time. Stay as long as you need.
